Kyriacos & Eulita

Kyriacos & Eulita

Our holy and venerable Saint Kyriacos, along with his pious mother, Saint Eulita, are celebrated for their unwavering faith and the profound sacrifices they made in the name of Christianity. Saint Kyriacos was born into a noble Christian family during the reign of Diocletian, who was notorious for his cruel persecutions against Christians.

Their trials began when Diocletian decreed a fierce edict aiming to obliterate the Christian faith. When Eulita and her son Kyriacos were discovered to be devout followers of Christ, they were immediately apprehended. Eulita was known for her remarkable courage and steadfast faith. She remained resolute in her devotion to the Lord despite the tortures she endured.

As legend recounts, Kyriacos, although merely a child of three years, showed extraordinary courage and divine inspiration. When he was brought before the tribunal, he astonishingly professed his faith in Jesus Christ. His words were seen as divinely inspired, leaving a powerful impression on all who witnessed this miraculous declaration.

Despite the excruciating efforts of their captors to break their spirits, Saint Eulita and her son remained firm in their faith. Eulita was subjected to severe torment, but she bore her suffering with a serene and unshakable composure, drawing strength from her deep and unwavering love for Christ.

Ultimately, realizing they could not break Eulita’s spirit or weaken her faith, the persecutors executed her. Saint Kyriacos was also martyred, following in the footsteps of his mother. Their martyrdom is a profound testament to their steadfast faith and eternal commitment to the Christian faith.

The life and martyrdom of Saints Kyriacos and Eulita serve as a poignant reminder of the profound strength and sacrifices of the early Christian martyrs. Their legacy continues to inspire and strengthen the faith of Coptic Christians worldwide.

The blessing of our blessed Kyriacos & Eulita be with us. Amen.
